The conflict between the National Workers Union of the Hulera Tornel Company and the JK Tornel company begins to break apart by having agreements in six and seven points that are under discussion at the negotiation table.
“There are agreements in six of the seven main points on the negotiating table, but the topic of the 40 hours is the main choice, as well as the pending salary increase for 2025 and 2026”, acknowledged a member of the Union.
The strike at the JK Tornel company broke out on February 23, 2026. This labor conflict involves 1,051 union workers. The movement has crippled activities at the company’s plants, particularly in Tutitlán, State of Mexico.
On March 18, an armed attack was registered against the strikers who were on duty at that plant, resulting in four workers injured. On March 22, workers ratified the strike by an official recount before the Federal Labor Court where 883 workers voted in favor of the strike.
Data from the company reveals that this conflict has had a strong impact by stopping producing between 19,000 and 20,000 tires per day.
