[Editor’s Note: Despite joining cases at the International Court of Justice and International Criminal Court related to Israel’s genocide of the Palestinians, with explicit use of that term, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum has never once used the term genocide, prefering the term “situation” or “what is happening right now,” and refused to break relations with israel. “We have, in all international forums, and our representative at the United Nations has publicly stated, and we have said so here, that we seek peace and the peaceful coexistence of two states, the State of Israel and the State of Palestine,” the president stated during her morning press conference at the National Palace.
Sheinbaum emphasized that Mexico condemns “what is happening right now” and asserted that the country is putting “all its words and actions” at the service of building peace between Israel and Palestine.
