The President explained that she will meet next week with U.S. businessmen to whom the magnate also owes debts, emphasizing that debts should not be politicized, they should be paid. She criticized Raul Salinas Pliego for instead of responding in Mexico, he went to complain on Fox News while his own TV station devotes time to attacking the 4T.
Strategy Against Extortion
The President explained the national strategy against extortion. She reported that the General Law to combat this crime has already been approved and that new complementary bills will be sent to Congress this week. Sheinbaum noted that the new legislation will allow prosecution of extortion ex officio, based on anonymous complaints, guaranteeing victim protection.

On Translation Day, Indigenous women announced cultural and academic activities to recognize their historic role. This year the tribute is dedicated to Malintzin, mother of resilience, with dances, forums, colloquiums, and materials in public and community media.
Mental Health Strategy for Youth
The President announced a national mental health strategy following the attack at the CCH Sur campus in Mexico City, with safe and closed spaces for youth. She noted that although she has not yet spoken with the UNAM’s rector, the security cabinet supports the investigation and clarified that the closure of campuses was decided by students and authorities.
Defense of Mexican Dignity
Sheinbaum reaffirmed the value of the country’s workforce following the airing of a video by Donald Trump that caricatured Mexicans. She stated that “Mexican men and women are to be respected” and recalled that the U.S. economy relies on hardworking migrants.
She emphasized that the image of a passive Mexico is false. The resilience and effort of its people are the true face of the nation. In addition, she reported that the Mexican government presented diplomatic complaints regarding abuses of authority in ICE raids and detentions, reiterating that it is the State’s obligation to defend Mexican nationals abroad.
