Plan México Attracts Investment and Jobs
LEGO will invest US$400 million in Nuevo León, create 1,300 jobs, and strengthen domestic suppliers. President Claudia Sheinbaum emphasized that “this investment demonstrates confidence in our country” and bolsters domestic production and exports.
Less Red Tape, Greater Technological Sovereignty
More than 4,000 red tape paperwork procedures have been simplified and 1,947 eliminated, reducing requirements and processing times. In addition, 300 Mexican engineers developed public technology that has generated 14 billion pesos (US$800 million) in savings for the government.
Digital Economy to Strengthen Small Businesses
Under the new law, small shops, street stalls, and small businesses will be able to accept payments via SPEI and CoDi, commission-free and in seconds, facilitating their financial inclusion. Cash is not being eliminated, but the goal is to facilitate commission-free digital payments.
More Innovation and Protection for Products Made in Mexico
The reform modernizes the Mexican Industrial Property Institute (IMPI) to reduce trademark and patent registration times by 35%, protect industrial and intellectual property, combat smuggling and illegal copying, and prevent the commercial use of the Mexican government’s image.
“People are happy; they’re satisfied”
The President reported that life satisfaction among Mexicans aged 12 and older reached 8.75 out of 10 in 2026. She noted that this sentiment is also reflected in the closeness and communication she experiences with people during her travels throughout the country.
