Mexico City. Colombia’s former president, Gustavo Petro, visited Mexican head of state Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo on Wednesday.
During his visit with President Sheinbaum, Petro warned about the risks of interference from the United States in Latin American electoral processes.
The Colombian, who is on a visit to Mexico, maintained that Mexico must watch what happens in the region’s electoral processes, such as in Brazil, as well as the advance of right-wing forces, ahead of Mexico’s 2027 midterm elections and the 2030 presidential election.
“I have just come from speaking with the president of the United Mexican States, @Claudiashein,” he posted on his X account, alongside a photograph from Mexico City’s Zócalo.
After meeting with the Mexican head of state, Petro said they talked about what he considered “a new political reality in the region,” linked to operations originating outside the countries where the elections are held.
The current issue is the new artificial political reality. We could call it that based on all these investigations that have been carried out from Bolivia and that cover all of the Americas, because its real center is in Washington, its financing is in Israel.
