Mexico. This morning, President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo will inaugurate the suburban train branch line to the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA).
The first train departed at 10:27 a.m., with the president on board accompanied by the head of government of Mexico City, Clara Brugada, the governor of the state of Mexico, Delfina Gómez, and the governor of Hidalgo, Julio Menchaca.
The project, long awaited to be able to reach the airport terminal directly, was inaugurated in March 2022.
The train, which the president recently announced will be named after Felipe Ángeles, will initially have a promotional fare of 45 pesos per trip. The branch line is part of the suburban train, and will connect Mexico City (at the Buenavista station) with the AIFA in 50 minutes. The trains will run every 30 minutes.
