The People’s Support: The Greatest Strength of the Transformation Project
After being recognized by Time magazine, Sheinbaum said that “as long as we remain close to the people, there will continue to be popular support.” The President explained that closeness to the people, honesty, results, and love for the people and the nation are the foundation of the Fourth Transformation.
She also criticized the opposition’s classism, racism, and subservience, arguing that those who prefer to speak ill of Mexico abroad rather than engage with the population are distancing themselves from the people’s interests.
Colombia: Respect for the Democratic Process
In relation to the presidential election in Colombia, Sheinbaum called for prudence and respect for the electoral process.
“We will wait for the preliminary vote count to be completed, which may even extend into the first few days of August; then we will wait to congratulate whoever emerges victorious,” she said.
Anti-Screwworm Strategy Is Strengthened
The President announced that the first phase of the sterile fly production facility to combat the screwworm will be inaugurated this Friday in Chiapas. She explained that production will increase gradually and that talks with the United States are continuing to advance in the normalization of livestock exports, noting that meat production grew over the past year.
