Mexico City. The federal government is reviewing working conditions in public media outlets because almost all workers are hired on a fee-based basis, without economic or social benefits, and some for many years, President Claudia Sheinbaum announced.

During the press conference at the National Palace, she ruled out any financial problems or a lack of resources to pay workers’ salaries. This was in reference to the delay in paying salaries to Canal Once staff.

President Sheinbaum said the delay was caused by administrative issues related to the contract terms, but it has now been resolved, and the outstanding payments will be made tomorrow.

She assured that this will not happen again and insisted that the government has the financial resources to meet its obligations to workers, as well as to strengthen public media and improve working conditions.
