Chiapas, Governed by Morena, Seeks Security Cooperation with israel

The Secretariat of Public Security of the State of Chiapas held a meeting with representatives of the Embassy of israel in Mexico, in which the state government expressed its intention to strengthen cooperation ties in security matters and project its institutional strategy to diplomatic actors.
The meeting was led by the head of the agency, Óscar Alberto Aparicio Avendaño, along with the Undersecretary of Public Security, Álvaro Cuauhtémoc Serrano Escobedo, and included the participation of Consul Hila Burg, Attaché Zvi Michaeli and advisor Rocío Cervantes.
According to information released by the agency itself in press releases and social media, the meeting was part of a strategy by the state government to maintain communication with diplomatic representations accredited in Mexico and to publicize its security situation.

“The governor’s instruction, Dr. Eduardo Ramírez Aguilar, is to maintain fluid communication with all consuls or ambassadors in Mexico, to provide them with security and give them an overview of how we are working today in Chiapas,” the official explained during the meeting.
The official highlighted that Chiapas is going through a period of improvement in security matters, although without presenting indicators, figures or public documentation to support the claim in the disseminated material.
During the meeting, the state authority indicated the government’s willingness to collaborate with foreign representatives, without detailing specific mechanisms, programs, or agreements resulting from the meeting.
On behalf of the israeli delegation, Consul Hila Burg expressed a favorable perception of the security conditions in the state and stated that there are no restrictions on traveling to Chiapas.
The diplomat also expressed interest in maintaining the institutional relationship and exploring possible cooperation projects , although no specific lines of work or concrete agreements were mentioned during the meeting.
The Chiapas government framed the meeting as part of its international outreach policy, to strengthen its security strategy and open spaces for cooperation with diplomatic actors, although no specific results from the meeting have been announced so far.
