Workers across the country will now have the opportunity to report violations of their labor rights through the new Workplace Complaints and Accidents System (SIQAL), launched by the Secretariat of Labor and Social Security, which will allow for more accurate inspections.

The Secretary of Labor and Social Security, Marath Bolaños López, considered this system to be another step toward modernization, justice, and transparency in the world of work, which will help workers assert their rights and strengthen compliance with the law.

SIQAL is a completely free online system that allows any citizen to report potential labor rights violations or accidents that have occurred in the workplace.

Through this system, Bolaños reported, “labor authorities will be able to act more quickly and efficiently, initiating inspections and procedures that contribute to correcting irregularities, preventing risks, and safeguarding the integrity and dignity of workers.”

He emphasized that this system has been designed with the highest digital security standards, guaranteeing the confidentiality and anonymity of reporting individuals, as well as the comprehensive protection of their personal data.

At SIQAL, you can report violations of labor rights or report a work-related accident from any device with internet access. The website is siqal.stps.gob.mx

With this digital innovation, the STPS reaffirms its commitment to protecting workers’ rights and building a safer, fairer, and more transparent work environment throughout the country.

It should be noted that during President Claudia Sheinbaum’s first year in office, 25,735 workplaces were visited, conducting 27,815 inspections aimed at ensuring compliance with safe and healthy working conditions, promoting ongoing training through the Joint Training, Development, and Productivity Committees, and monitoring general working conditions.

Likewise, 18 extraordinary inspections were carried out at ten workplaces where possible acts of employer interference in union activities were reported, following requests made by the Federal Labor Court for collective matters in Mexico City.
