Mexican Women Denounce Their Torture by israel

Mexico City. After participating in the Global Sumud Flotilla humanitarian initiative, whose members were intercepted by the israeli government in international waters, Dr. Violeta Núñez Rodríguez, a professor and researcher at the Xochimilco Unit of the Metropolitan Autonomous University (UAM), and activist Sol González Eguía arrived in Mexico and denounced physical and psychological abuse, as well as various forms of torture, for which they demanded that President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo break relations with that country.
Amid chants, music, and demands for justice, which supporters of the pro-Palestinian movement launched as the activists left through Gate 8 of Terminal 1 of the Mexico City International Airport (AICM), they denounced that Israel had escalated the violence, and assured that they feared for their lives, after being victims of multiple mistreatments, many of which do not leave a mark, but do hurt.
In this regard, Sol González Eguía stated that, unfortunately, the military under Benjamin Netanyahu’s government is overly creative in this area, which tramples on dignity and human rights. She questioned whether, if the nearly five hundred participants in the flotilla were subjected to such degrading treatment, what will they be capable of doing to the Palestinian population outside of public scrutiny?
Núñez Rodríguez explained that “we were kidnapped in international waters by the israeli occupation forces and then held for three days and two nights on a prison ship, we were taken to a prison where we were tortured.”
She detailed that “50 colleagues from the Global Sumud Flotilla are hospitalized, 35 of them have various fractures, of ribs, legs, shoulders and arms, 5 people were injected with an unknown liquid and something even more despicable is that 15 people, so far reported, suffered sexual assaults.”
They announced that they had requested a meeting with Governor Sheinbaum Pardo to recount their experience and demand the severing of relations with “the genocidal state of israel.”
The academic also indicated that both as a flotilla and personally, they will file a complaint against israel in international human rights bodies. Both assured that despite what happened, they will continue to organize flotillas to deliver humanitarian aid to Palestine.
At the AICM, relatives, friends, activists, and co-workers welcomed the participants in the humanitarian initiative.
