Mexico City. Mexican avocado exports to the United States are maintaining a positive trend during the first four months of 2026, registering a growth of 35 percent compared to the same period of 2025, the Secretariat of Agriculture and Rural Development (SADER) reported.
According to figures from the Secretariat of Economy, Mexican producers sent 501,824 tonnes of avocado between January and April of the current year, 370,551 tonnes more than those exported during the same period of the previous year.
It emphasized that in March a volume of 148,511 tonnes was sent, which represented an increase of 57 percent of this fruit compared to the same period of the previous year.
On International Avocado Day, SADER highlighted that the dynamism of the exports contributes to the economic development of the exporting regions of Michoacán, Jalisco, State of Mexico, and Nayarit.
Mexican avocado positioned itself as the second agri-food product from Mexico to the United States in 2025, when 3.653 billion dollars were reached, equivalent to 8.1 percent of Mexican agri-food exports to that market.
