In response to the PAN’s request for the right of reply during the Morning Presidential Press Conference, Sheinbaum explained that “this is a space for the people, where the Government of Mexico fulfills its responsibility to inform the public.” “Let them hold their own press conference; there they can have a proper right of reply,” she added.

The President reiterated that she will not censor anyone and defended “freedom of expression, but also the right of reply.” Sheinbaum highlighted that 79% believe that fake news should be penalized and reminded everyone that “only a fool believes the people are fools.”
Sheinbaum Questions Alito for Traveling to the U.S.
Sheinbaum criticized Alito Moreno, leader of “a political party on the verge of extinction,” for traveling to the United States to request that Mexican officials’ visas be revoked. “It’s downright laughable.” She added that the PRI senator doesn’t have much credibility here and probably not there either.
It’s Not Political Persecution, Sheinbaum Says
Regarding the arrests of officials linked to Alito, the President commented that “this is a question of crime, of offenses that were committed.” She clarified that the investigation falls under the jurisdiction of the Campeche State Attorney General’s Office, not the Federal Attorney General’s Office (FGR), and that any removal of immunity is the responsibility of Congress.
