Well-Being Programs on Track to 1 Trillion Pesos with Direct Support and Austerity

The Well-Being programs now reach 18.4 million beneficiaries with an investment of 579 billion pesos (US$31.68 billion), while food self-sufficiency support programs reach 33.3 million people, with 850 billion pesos (US$46.51 billion) spent.

President Claudia Sheinbaum emphasized that social investment will grow to 1 trillion pesos (US$54.72 billion) by 2026, made possible through austerity and honesty without new taxes. Additional revenue of 24 billion pesos (US$1.31 billion) confirms the country’s fiscal strength.

In 2025, support programs benefited 32 million families, and social investment increased from 291 billion pesos (US$15.92 billion) in 2019 to the projected 1 trillion (US$54.72 billion) for 2026.

Education and Scholarships/Stipends: Progress and Expansion Toward 2026

The “School is Ours” program benefits 8.1 million students, with an investment of 25 billion pesos (US$1.37 billion), including 6,239 high schools that received 4 billion pesos (US$220 million). For scholarships/stipends, there are 12.8 million beneficiaries and an investment of 128 billion pesos (US$7 billion).

In Michoacán, the distribution of the bimonthly 1,900 peso (US$103) support is underway, with the “Gertrudis Bocanegra” bank card set to be delivered in January.

Sheinbaum Welcomes AMLO’s Reappearance and the Strength of the Movement

The President expressed her pleasure at seeing President López Obrador present his latest book “Grandeza,” highlighting his perspective on Mexico’s cultural and family heritage. She noted that AMLO is entering a period of reflection after decades of action and thanked him for his comments.

Looking ahead to Saturday, Sheinbaum said the mass rally in Mexico City’s Zócalo square will be a display of popular jubilation and seven years of Transformation, recalling that there is no divide between the people and the government. The majority of the population supports the project, and only those who seek to preserve privileges resist it.

New Cycle in the Attorney General’s Office: Conclusion of Gertz, Arrival of Godoy, and a Push for Greater Coordination

After concluding his term as Federal Attorney General, Alejandro Gertz Manero closes this chapter in the agency’s history and will be proposed to represent Mexico as an ambassador. Ernestina Godoy is assuming the post of interim Federal Attorney General while the Senate defines the selection process. The President acknowledged Gertz’s work and said that a new cycle is beginning with the main challenge of strengthening security coordination and ensuring zero impunity.

Sheibnbaum recalled the proven model from Mexico City: security roundtable discussions that respect autonomy while fostering real collaboration among security forces, prosecutors, and the judiciary.

The Transformation Advances with Firm Support

Despite over 2.5 billion messages and articles published against her, Claudia Sheinbaum maintains a 70% approval rating, reflecting a society that recognizes results: 13.5 million people lifted out of poverty, unemployment at all-time lows, record foreign investment, a 125% increase in the minimum wage, expansion of education and healthcare, and a 37% reduction in homicides in the 13 months since the President took office.

The President affirmed that the project remains strong because it has not and will not betray the people. The dirty war is driven by those who long for privileges; the majority defends their gains and stands by the seven years of transformation.

Investigation into November 15 Opposition Protests and Possible Staged Media Images

The President reiterated that the Mexico City Congress has an active Commission investigating the events of November 15.

Regarding the alleged staged media images exposed by Mexico City legislators—where a family interviewed as “victims” turned out to be opposition party activists—she described the case as “very interesting” and emphasized the importance of all information coming to light as the investigation proceeds.

Message to the United States

In response to statements labeling organized crime as terrorism, Sheinbaum recalled the bill to amend Article 40 of the Constitution that states that Mexico will not accept any form of foreign interference.
