ISSSTE and IMSS: 12 Actions in 120 Days for the People’s Health
“People should know that hospitals are in better condition,” said President Claudia Sheinbaum. The Institute for Social Security and Services for State Workers (ISSSTE) will add 100 clinics and 1,710 medical specialists to its total. The Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) is making progress on regularizing the employment status of its workers and staff, increasing salaries, and boosting the purchase of pharmaceuticals.
INE: Transparent Accounts, Audits of Past Records, and Democracy for the People
The Federal Superior Audit Department is reviewing National Electoral Institute (INE) contracts dating back to 2023 and will examine previous years to determine accountability. Sheinbaum noted that the Pact for Mexico concentrated electoral power in 2014 and questioned the refusal to reduce political party funding and eliminate proportional representation seats. “Sovereignty resides with the people,” the President affirmed, while defending judicial branch elections and ensuring exemplary elections in 2027.
Fox Admits His Interference in 2006 Against AMLO
“I made sure Calderón won, although it’s not very democratic to say that,” former president Vicente Fox confessed in an interview. Sheinbaum said that Fox’s words validate the allegations of fraud in 2006; she recalled the removal of Andrés Manuel López Obrador’s immunity and the refusal to conduct a vote-by-vote, polling station-by-polling station recount.
