Mexico City. Russia expressed its willingness this Saturday to supply liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Mexico and collaborate in the technological development of the energy sector, according to a message released by the Russian Embassy in Mexico. The announcement was made by Russian Energy Minister Sergei Tsiviliov, who emphasized his country’s willingness to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the energy sector.
“We are already working with Mexico. We have excellent technologies in the field of liquefied natural gas. We are ready to share these technologies and also supply LNG to Mexico,” Tsiviliov stated, underscoring Russia’s interest in expanding its presence in Latin America through strategic alliances, according to statements posted by the Russian embassy on social media.
The minister noted that the offer is not limited to the supply of gas, but also includes the transfer of knowledge and techniques for various stages of the energy process. “Russia is prepared to share with Mexico technologies for oil extraction in difficult geological conditions, as well as technologies to improve the efficiency of oil processing,” he explained.
Furthermore, the Russian official stated that his country is also interested in collaborating with Mexico in the electricity sector. “We are willing to share technologies for the generation and transmission of electricity to every town, every home, and every business,” he said.
Tsiviliov called on Mexican companies to establish ties with their Russian counterparts, emphasizing that “Russian companies are open to cooperation with Mexican companies, therefore, we invite all interested partners to collaborate.”
