Appeasing the US brings no benefit to Mexico itself. It makes Mexico appear susceptible to coercion, raises doubts about the independence of its policymaking, and encourages the pressuring side to demand even greater concessions.
“What Reuters says is false. That report says there are CIA agents working with the Mexican Army on the operations. It’s absolutely false, it’s not true,” the President stated.
Marco Rubio has turned the Caribbean into a laboratory for his project: subordinating the region to Washington.
