“The world and history will judge the silence of nations in the face of these crimes”

Statement released by the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Mexico on Tuesday, April 7th, 2026.

Statement by Mr. Abolfazl Pasandideh, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Mexican States

In recent days, everyone has heard the threats shouted by Donald Trump regarding an attack on Iran that would “send it back to the Stone Age.” Those who call on Iran to reach a “deal” through the language of violence have yet to grasp the reality of this land. Iran is not a country that surrenders to threats; Iran is a country of resistance, rationality, and honor.

The Iranian people, faced with war and aggression, not only defend themselves but continue to live and rebuild the country. Iran is not simply a collection of roads, bridges, and buildings. Iran is home to all of us. Iran is a living civilization, a nation that has repeatedly risen from the flames, destruction, and invasions, rebuilding itself each time with greater conviction and resolve

When the President of the United States speaks of “returning Iran to the Stone Age,” this is not simply political rhetoric; it is the revelation of a worldview. It is, in essence, a war crime project that not even Nazi Germany admitted to with such a level of cynicism. Sadly, most countries, just as they remained silent in the face of the genocide of the Palestinian people in Gaza, remain silent in the face of Trump’s threat to destroy Iran’s millennia-old civilization. This inaction will have terrifying consequences for the future of humanity and will gradually contribute to the creation of a new Nazi regime in the 21st century.

By adopting this approach and this new language based on threats and insults, Trump has placed himself among the most terrifying leaders of a “Stone Age”—leaders who believe that everything not under their control, from knowledge and universities to industry, from bridges and steel mills to cancer drugs and vaccine-producing institutes, must be set for destruction

A reading of the US and Israeli strategy reveals that the objectives of the war to resolve the Iranian question, as one of the most important bulwarks of the “new geometry of global power,” were designed on three levels: the ultimate goal, to dominate Iran; the intermediate goal, to divide Iran; and the minimum goal, to destroy the infrastructure to weaken the country in the face of future attacks.

However, reality shows that, due to the firm defense of the military forces and the awareness of the people, since the first two objectives have not been achieved under the current conditions, the logic of the war has descended to “pure destruction”; that is, to make Iran uninhabitable—like Gaza—in the hope of devouring it

However, Iran will not return to the Stone Age. The history of this land is the story of overcoming every crisis and continually rising again. What has sustained Iran is not only its military capability, but its profound civilizational capacity and national consciousness. A reality as great as Iran cannot be erased from history by bombing. Iran will remain a land that creates civilization and, God willing, will shine like the sun

The United States and the Israeli regime have assassinated our leaders, killed school-age children, attacked hospitals, universities, energy facilities, and desalination plants, targeted the Pasteur Institute of vaccines and major bridges and railway lines, and openly threaten to bomb our electrical infrastructure and “send Iran back to the Stone Age.”

Are there any crimes left they haven’t yet committed?

The world and history will judge the silence of nations in the face of these crimes, especially the silence of Western countries that claim to defend democracy and human rights. All free governments and peoples are called upon to stop this madness and barbarism, as it will negatively affect life around the world. The degradation represented by the application of the law of the jungle by Trump and Netanyahu will signify a setback for all human civilization.
