Cruz Azul Cooperative Expands Production Plant; Expects 17% Growth in 2026

The Cruz Azul Cooperative expects to achieve a 17 percent growth in its cement production by the end of 2026, compared to the volumes achieved in 2025, reported Víctor Manuel Velázquez Rangel, president of the company’s board of directors.
“We project to close the year with a 17 percent increase in our production, thanks to the recovery of the Hidalgo plant, the new mill in Oaxaca and the opening of Campeche,” he said.
The cooperative closed 2025 with a 9 percent increase in production, compared to 2024, as a result of infrastructure modernization and administrative efficiency.
The cooperative’s expansion has resulted from investment projects such as the construction of a new cement plant in Campeche, the third production line for bags in Puebla, the implementation of new industrial co-processing lines in Aguascalientes, the modernization of infrastructure in Oaxaca, as well as new primary and secondary crushers.
“After five years of institutional transformation and corporate restructuring, Cooperativa La Cruz Azul reports significant progress in financial, industrial and operational matters, consolidating a new stage of stability and growth for one of the most important cooperative groups in the country,” Velázquez Rangel stated.
“The cooperative is going through a good period, with healthy finances, administrative stability, and legal certainty in all its processes,” he added.
Velázquez Rangel reported that all the companies in the business group have been restructured to operate as competitive companies, enabling the development of local economies and, therefore, boosting Mexico’s growth.
