Mexico City. On day 16 of the national strike, teachers of the National Coordinator of Education Workers (CNTE) will carry out blockades at different points of Avenida Paseo de la Reforma. From 10 in the morning, contingents of Section 22 of Oaxaca will gather at the Ángel de la Independencia; 34 and 58, both of Zacatecas, 7 of Chiapas, and 18 of Michoacán will be at the intersection of Insurgentes; and 9 of Mexico City and 14 of Guerrero will be located at the Torre del Caballito.
In the afternoon, at the headquarters of Section 9 on Belisario Domínguez, they will hold a forum to explain the individual-accounts regime and Pensionissste. Likewise, they will reinstall the National Representative Assembly (ANR) at night.
Last night, Zacatecas teachers reported that they would lift the sit-in they had at the Plaza de Armas in their state capital in order to reinforce their contingent in Mexico City.
At yesterday’s state assembly of Section 34, it was ratified to maintain the work stoppage that began two weeks ago, but it was stressed that the objective is to concentrate all efforts, human and economic capacity, on the mobilization that the CNTE is carrying out in Mexico City.
